Do you disable any php functions

Server wide, we don't disable any php functions. However since our (your) web hosting environment is suPHP enabled, you will have a php.ini in your webspace disabling certain functions, which are normally desired to be disabled. Those disabled functions can be explicitly enabled by our customers themselves.

Believe us, news is there (http://www.php.net/~derick/meeting-notes.html ) that most of the functions we have disabled will be deprecated in PHP 6, like register_globals, magic_quotes, safe_mode etc.

So the functions disabled in your php.ini are below,

register_globals ( Is your php code secure, then enable it in your php.ini )
shell_exec ( Use shell to execute shell commands )
allow_url_fopen (You can use php://input . Disabled, because we can't remove include() and require())
exec() , passthru() , system() , popen() - (We dont want someone else to remove your files. Gallery users, do enable it, but put php.ini inside gallery folder. If you want to use other functions, remember to use escapeshellarg() and escapeshellcmd())
magic_quotes_gpc and magic_quotes_runtime - Off

Explicity enabled functions

safe_mode (It puts a few set of restrictions, like accessing/modifying files which has the same owner as script itself and backtick operator is also now allowed. Again gallery will break. Disable it in our php.ini if you are running gallery)
